Half of the top comes off & the other will come off if you take the screws out. Dates from the late 1800s or early 1900s. Without leaves it is 54" long by 54" wide. Has 6 leaves that are11.5"  wide. We haven't had the whole thing stretched out with the leaves in it. If you buy this table we can help you put it in your truck but don't expect to fit in anything smaller than a pickup truck. It is heavy & large. We also have a china cabinet & set of 6 chairs that were in the same house.
