People don't use these anymore for live babies for safety reasons but display teddy bears, dolls etc in them.

Some people use them for their pets.

The side rails work great as towel racks. They also hang from the ceiling to make great potracks. The headboard & footboard are the same size, some people use them in their gardens as trellises for flowers or vegetables
